We are located at 95 Stirling Terrace in Toodyay, opposite the Toodyay Public Library.
I 'retired' in April 2008 after many years working with people with intellectual disabilities. Within 3 months I had indulged my crochet hobby by opening a craft / haberdashery / cupcake and yarn shop in the small Wheatbelt town of Toodyay in the Avon Valley.
I also teach many forms of crochet including broomstick, Tunisian and Hairpin.
My husband and I have a small 50 acre farm where we breed cashmere goats. I have the cashmere processed locally and use it to design and produce unique scarves, hats etc. as well as using the best of natural fibre yarns from Australia, Italy, England and New Zealand.

I owe the cupcake and cake part of my business to my daughter whose stunning designs can be seen on Mossy's Masterpiece cakes.
Toodyay was recently devasted by a bush fire that destroyed 38 homes and I have a great admiration for the spirit of the people who lost their homes and the army of community volunteers whose wonderful efforts are gradually restoring some degree of normality to our community

A haberdasher is a person who sells small articles for sewing, such as buttons, ribbons, zippers, and other notions.
A haberdasher's shop and the items sold therein are called haberdashery.
Initially, a haberdashery sold all kinds of accessories - something like a medieval "two dollar shop". You might find things like buttons, thread or ribbons, commonly called notions, at a haberdashery but such a store might also supply its customers with swords, musical instruments or simple household items. A description of an English haberdashery in the 16th century refers to a number of things in stock: drinking implements, Jews’ Harps, birdcages, mousetraps and shoehorns. In the Australia, this strange assortment of items might be sold in a hardware store instead of a haberdashery.
Haberdashery is an odd word, somewhat fun to say, but its origin is unknown. Some suggest it comes from the French English word, hapertas, which translates to "wares" or "pretty wares." It is suggested that hapertas may have referred to a specific type of fabric that is now no longer made.
The list of haberdashers in the past includes some interesting people. The late talk show host Johnny Carson was briefly a haberdasher. James Cook, the famous 18th century British explorer also spent a short period of time as a haberdasher.
